These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the mobile applications, software, products, website, and services (collectively, the "Services") provided by MD Technology ("Developer", "we", "our", "us").

BY INSTALLING, USING, OR OTHERWISE ACCESSING OUR SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT USE OUR SERVICES.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using any of our apps or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use our Services. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 13 years old.
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • You have not been previously banned from using our Services.

3. License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, MD Technology grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to:

  • Download and install our apps on devices you own or control.
  • Use our apps for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Access our website and services.

This license does not include the right to:

  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our apps, except to the extent that such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.
  • Use our Services for commercial purposes without authorization.

4. Use of Services

You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use our Services in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our Services.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our Services.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access our Services.
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Collect or store personal data about other users.
  • Use our Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

5. Your Documents and Content

MD PDF Scanner creates and processes documents, page images and PDF files on your device. You retain all ownership and rights in the content you scan or import.

  • Your scans stay on your device. We do not receive, store, view or process your captured or imported pages, or any text recognised from them.
  • You grant us a limited license to process your content solely on your own device to provide the Services — that is, to run OCR and generate your PDF. This license does not extend to us receiving your content.
  • You represent that you own or have the rights to any content you scan, and that scanning it does not infringe the rights of others.
  • You agree not to create or scan content that is illegal, harmful, or that violates third-party rights.
  • You are responsible for keeping your own backups. We cannot recover documents lost through device failure, uninstall, or your own deletion.

6. Advertisements

The free version of our apps displays advertisements through third-party ad networks including Google AdMob. By using our free apps, you agree that:

  • Advertisements will be displayed as part of the app experience.
  • We are not responsible for the content of advertisements, including any goods or services offered by third parties.
  • Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.
  • You may purchase an ad-free version if available.

For MD PDF Scanner, the one-time Pro purchase removes all advertising from the app and disables all ad network requests.

7. In-App Purchases

Some of our apps may offer in-app purchases or premium features. By making a purchase:

  • You agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes.
  • Payments are processed by Google Play Billing.
  • Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy.
  • Purchases are tied to your Google account and may not be transferable.
  • The price shown at purchase is the price set in the Google Play Console and may include local taxes.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality of our Services — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, code, and design — are owned by MD Technology or its licensors and are protected by:

  • Copyright laws (India and international).
  • Trademark laws.
  • Patent laws.
  • Other intellectual property rights.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any content without our express written permission.

Third-party open-source components used in our apps remain subject to their own licences, including Apache 2.0 (Android PDFBox), the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (Noto Sans fonts), AndroidX and Jetpack libraries (Apache 2.0), and Google ML Kit and Google Mobile Ads under their respective Google terms.

9. Third-Party Services

Our Services integrate with third-party services including:

  • Google AdMob — Advertising (free tier of MD PDF Scanner)
  • Google Play Billing — Purchases and entitlement verification
  • Google ML Kit Text Recognition — On-device OCR
  • Google Play Services — Distribution and core platform functionality

Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

10. Disclaimer — Accuracy of OCR and Output

MD PDF Scanner performs optical character recognition on your device. Optical character recognition is inherently imperfect. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Recognised text may contain errors, omissions, or misread characters, and accuracy varies with image quality, page skew, resolution, handwriting, stamps, dense tables and complex layouts.
  • A searchable PDF's text layer is positioned line-by-line and is not a full typographic reconstruction of the original page.
  • Vertical CJK text, handwritten notes and severely skewed pages may produce unreliable results.
  • You must always verify the content of an exported PDF against the original document before relying on it, particularly for legal, financial, medical or official records.

11. Disclaimers

Our Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Warranties of non-infringement.
  • Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of OCR or generated files.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MD Technology and its licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, documents, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because documents are stored only on your own device, our total liability for any loss of your documents is limited to zero, and we cannot restore data lost through device failure, uninstall, or your own deletion.

13. Termination

You may stop using our Services at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India, subject to applicable law.
